We got to the season: hosiery yes, hosiery no? How do I wear it?

How to wear hosieries? Here are the rules to follow! We know that bon-ton requires skin-coloured hosiery even in summer, but is it really so? In these days, when the afternoon is already hot, what to wear in the evening with clothes, black hosieries or skin-coloured ones based on the tone of one’s skin? Is the open toe shoe strictly without hosieries?

Until recently, the etiquette provided for the sheer hosieries in formal situations. This is still true for formal occasions at court but for us mere mortals, the rule is a little more elastic: in case of extreme heat, it is possible, even for a ceremony, to avoid hosieries. The only exception is the bride: technically she should always wear them!

Our advice is to opt for a sheer summer pantyhose in your skin shade, if you choose well, no one will notice that you wear a pantyhose and your legs will be fantastic, hiding the winter pallor and the small defects that the untanned skin can show out.

How to wear hosieries: with open toe shoes! You can easily decide to wear hosieries even with these shoes, just choose the right pantyhose. For example, there are open toe tights (Tropea) or the 8 denier tight with an invisible toe (Capri).

If you really do not like the skin-coloured sheer hosiery the alternative to the bare leg are the sheer fashion articles. Lately they are seen also on the catwalks even sheer and in every kind of colour, with a thousand of applications and decorations they are really a trend. In the case of more formal evening situations, which foresee as dress code the dark dress, you can also wear the sheer back seam hosiery that are always a must in elegance.
